A week in my life: Write It Down, Walk It Out

oy!

Wth got my nails done yesterday and now I can't fucking type on my computer anymore... so sorry if this is a mess, I'm doing my best!! It was fun tho , she did my nails and I helped her pronounce au revoir.

Anyways, it feels like ages ago, so here are some updates:

My brain won’t stop spinning when I’m trying to fall asleep. yesterday it hit me! maybe it’s because I haven’t really written anything on my blog lately. It's like I need to exhaling all the clutter in my mind and give it somewhere else to live..... lol. So here it is, not my deepest thoughts but just something to put out into the world.

This morning I took a long bath (morning baths are the absolute best! write it down) and went to  Bourse de la Commerce. I wasn’t amazed, but got my portion of culture for the day. Did a little shopping, wandered around, sat in the sun (I love how the sun leaves freckles on my face when it touches me ... it feels like a kiss), called a few people. --- It was one of those calls where you literally can’t sit still and need to walk around, gesturing wildly with your hands even though they can’t see you...  Amazing.

Also: have you ever tried raw dog walking? Like, no music, no bag, no hoodie, no cap, no sunglasses. Just you. Hands down by your sides. Nothing else.

I think I might do it tomorrow. Just for the fun of it. To see what happens... vulnerably visible. One time in Brussels, I tried to look directly into the eyes of every single person who passed me. Lol. It was only few seconds everytime but .... yes... interesting, you should try it too? or whatever?

....

I had dinner with my coloc for the first time last week (we both have super busy schedules + I was kind of avoiding it). We had pasta (of course) and talked about literally everything: politics, love, Elon Musk, moving, what I’d do if I had 250 million in the bank, work, Pete Davidson... etc..... Mostly it wwas him yapping, and me giving a quick answer before we jumped to the next topic. It’s actually really interesting... I never thought I’d become friends with a 38-yo man-child... but look at me now.

Also, he’s deep in his crazy single era. He has a fixed hour to answer his Tinder/Hinge matches (which is after dinner) and tells me alllll about it (sometimes too much :((((( no filter). But I’m here for it!

I told my parents on the phone and they laughed. They’re coming to visit at the end of the month and I’m really excited :) I love entertaining people and planning little holiday visits here!

what else... oh they asked if I wanted to stay longer at the internship :))) and that we really work well together and that they like me at the studio.... my heart.... so cute! obv i'm going to say yes! This girl Anna, party planner Anna,  is a real boss omg, I think she's the coolest girl I have ever met.

I'm going to watch the second season of the Severance now! lmk if you've wqatched it too, I need to talk about it.

Lot's of love xxx

Music special: Where it all started

This is a Special Edition.

Life Line of My music

While taking the Ouigo train back to Brussels to see my favorite people, I forgot to download something to watch and I was too tired to read. So, I decided to chronologically listen to all my Spotify likes. While scrolling, I ended up tracing the timeline of (a part of) my life through music.

Voila!
honestly more for future me to look back on, but since you're in most of these memories, I thought it’d be fun to share them with you. x

If you really want to indulge in my music history you should read this on a computer to have the full experience….

Take ur time

(+ let’s ignore that Drank & Drugs is my first saved like on Spotify)

2016 - 2017

The first 100-ish likes are kind of random,  but also not. A lot of Kaytranada, Frank Ocean, Yung Lean, SMIB (and the whole shebang), Migos, Drake, Mick Jenkins, Playboi Carti, Chief Keef, 21 Savage... Very high school + having an older brother vibe.

These weren’t exactly my proudest years. Honestly, I don’t remember much ...  puberty hit hard, especially when I started listening to XXXTentacion and Lil Uzi... dark times........ But I can proudly say I never listened to Lil Peep.

My first music festival: Woo Hah! Says a lot. But let’s be real, it was either that or Les Ardentes if you grew up around Leuven.

End of 2017 + 2018

My house music + dating-the-DJ era began .......  and luckily didn’t last long... THANK GOD.
While listening to Mall Grab, Sweely, DJ Boring, Bellaire, Palm Trax... I stayed loyal to the Drain Gang community. (We’ll skip the couple of Mad Ox songs... what happend to him???)
Slime Language and Drip Harder!
Near the end of 2018, a few Girl Unit, Deadcrow, and Sam Gellaitry tracks sneak in ... kinda wild tbh, but also lowkey guilty pleasure. Started getting into Mechatok and Zutzut around this time too

2018 - 2019

Changed high schools, took the train to BXL every day… I still can't believe I did that… for two years

New environment. New people. New boyfriend. New artists: Croatian Amor, SahBabii,  Dinamarca, Shygirl, mobile Girl , Varg, Oklou, Eartheater (best live performance I’ve ever seen, tied with Bad Gyal), Ssaliva, Sega Bodega, Kamixlo + Amnesia scanner (honestly… this is beyond music at this point).

I lost like 40% of my hearing during this era.

just leaving this here : AAA

I remember Juliette and I listening to the most unhinged SoundCloud remixes while peacefully drawing a nude model in class.... such great times ... omg... Ms Nina & Badgyal My first parties in Brussels were actually the best ones,  so cute and small, mostly at Beurs? Exploring, pushing boundaries… making friends for life. <3

This is also the year I fell in love with the most handsome: Organ Tapes... would I marry this man? maybe?...

This was also the summer where at every park chilling, that one MOESHA13 soundcloudmix was playing ... crazy

aaaah I miss Supervue.....

2020

I was really into The Cure, the new TCBE album, reliving and re-listening to Netsky’s old albums.
Golin made a second appearance. Also discovered new love for  AG COOK (PC music) + more

2021

Every SoundCloud remix of "Je t’aime de ouf" by Wejdene....  D e v o u r e d….

Avant la douane, Jul: preparing for marseille (so cute) The new Loukeman album .. AMAZING (on repeat) this was also the year where literally at every party one of the DJ's played Friday... not complaining I loved it!

Big big big TB + come back of The Difference of Flume:

Dansaert parties

Tim driving through the fields,
people in the back of the camionette,
that song blasting
Amazing. I love.

Daniel L Harle played at Botanique and I still wish I had been there…

It was one of those you had to be there concerts, you know? But I’m honestly so happy some of you were obviously amazing, DJ geek!

The year of Doss! I also looove(d) Pearly Drops, very sweet sound

On a random night in bed,  Jef (getting a lot of music credit, ly, merci bg x) showed me the Life Sim I.D.L video clip…… wow …. this was a gift.

Please watch this! But only when you have time !

Goosebumps all over my body, but i'm very sensitive to those things, you'll see

Summer 2021? Was the summer of You Can Be The One by Late Night Alumini, Tragic Surprise by snowstripers and City of Atlantis . (thanks to Dobby, Dylan x) Torus!! I had a brief Coldplay phase ... Didn’t last long. But I did miss my metro stop once otw to Zoe's & Sofie's bday party because I was so hypnotized by a Coldplay song… sooo there's that.

for the culture: Dylan’s pre-brainrotSkibidiHORST remix

Then came my idk-how-to-label-it-but-sort-of-ethereal, dark-electro - witchy -era: Clams Casino, Salem, Crystal Castles, Club Eat, Pastel Ghost + TikTok song started leaking into spotify : miss you by Oliver tree (I still have an amazing video of us dancing in recyclart) Love

2022

I was introduced to  Money Lang… wow.... like Jef would say: I never heard something so crisp. Together with ESP (cutest duo) .... would love to see them again !

CFCF is right next to Loukman on my top to see live so talented. What else... oh Bar italia,  Meat Computer and TDJI went to see La Timpa and 7038634357 (scary person)  at Invitro (Molenbeek) Is that venue still active? Was cool.... Men I trust, Ivy, Texas, vegyn, mark william lewis ….

While listening to the beautiful soft music and voices of See Sea, Bee And MeSiegge, contacto (loved the cover, so peaceful) Kedr Livanskiy, boards of Canada, Imogene heap, Toxe, … I was also looping eternity by tespia and  Gohda and The Dare (still wondering why that song blew up a whole year later?? Wild.)

The Help + I was obsessed with DreamWeaver…Re-listening: Look - all night Remix soooo wild ... I love it!

2023

Went through a break-up --  but musically? Not much changed: moment 4 life Nicki Minaj, Ponto Suspeto = ultimate summer song

Gave 2hollis a chance, it's ok.... Went to his concert a couple weekends ago but can’t remember (Paris is turning me in an alcoholic) ….  I remember listening More than a woman by Kelly Lee Owen’s on my way home from an after, around 10 in the morning.

The sun was shining, birds were chirping, it was still a little cold…and for some reason, I felt like a boss ass bitch ---- actually after re-reading this… I know the reason lol. I was coming back from an after. ???

That same summer,  full of weird, layered emotions:

Eyes without a face by Billy Idol, the Cranberries: Sunday and Linger omg the best best best! Lieve and I would scream-sing them in our apartment with the windows wide open.... Didn’t care....Our neighbors did, though. Also in that rotation: The CardigansThe Sundays.

<3 Indie nostalgia heaven.

On the train to Busan, Korea, I listened to EuropaAnd I had this sudden, overwhelming realization that I was all alonemiles away from everything and everyone I knew…and it was amazing. I felt genuinely lucky. Blessed. Happy to be living this life, and to have made those choices.

Hype Williams, HTRK, DJH, Rei Harakami, damon r., CCFX (screaming) voice actor, untitled (halo)

Headache ---> amazing one of my favz

2024

beginning of the year :While scrolling through Majestic Casual’s likes on SoundCloud, I found "Police Scanner" by Chanel Beads…and it felt like winning the jackpot.

Crying, laughing, singing, jumping — unlocked.

......

To be continued... x

Sunday's nostalgic smell of rain
